Labor Day at Westfest

I wanted to drop a quick note on last week activities. Once again, I made my annual visit to the great town of West and their annual Westfest celebration. Westfest is a celebration of the Czechoslovakian heritage. The 1st few years it visited it was not much more than a beerfest but over the years (10 now) it has become more than that. It's held at the fair grounds, which is similar to the Live Oak county fair ground. The festival includes food, polka dancing, live music from some of the best polka bands in the US, washer pitching and horse shoe contest, Catholic morning mass, arts and crafts etc. This year was one of the best ever for me. Visit the website. I would love for those who can make it to join in next year. There is no way you could be disappointed. There are many activities in DFW metroplex but this ones always wins out. See ya.
